Children, Incorporated recently participated in a "Hoagie Building Contest" at WaWa, Inc's. annual Hoagie Fest. CI was selected by Richmond, Virginia radio station Q94 to be one of two charities to participate in the contest at a local WaWa store. CI staffers, Alicia Bargh, Emily Halata, and Austin Mill represented our organization and formed the CI Hoagie Building Team. After a hoagie training session and much excitement, CI claimed first place by building a record 35 hoagies in 3 minutes! "It was an exciting afternoon of good fun and great food all for an awesome cause," commented Emily Halata on Hoagie Fest. "I'm delighted CI was able to be part of this annual event for charity and I really enjoyed honing my hoagie making skills." As result of winning the Hoagie Building Contest, the Children, Incorporated team was presented with a $750 check from WaWa. These funds will go into our Haven Fund to support the children on our program who are not yet sponsored. Thank you WaWa and Q94 for inviting CI to participate in such a fun filled event!
